Windows Live forum: Progress bar in WLM when sending emails?

Yesterday I was helping a friend with his computer (Windows 7) and noticed that with his Windows Live Mail when he sends a large attachment the progress bar DOES work - it shows the progress fine. His is the same version (ie Build number) as mine. So Microsoft haven't dropped this feature - it just doesn't work in mine.

If anyone can help with suggestion of how to fix this I'd be grateful.

Would the Vista version of WLM be different from the Win 7 version, even though the build number is the same?

R Proffitt, thanks for your reply, but I know about getting the "Sync" window that shows the jobs (the website suggesting pressing the Send/Receive button twice in order to see the "Sync window" with info about the tasks it's doing - receiving mail, sending 2 emails etc). (NB you can also see this window if you press F5 twice).

The problem is that in this "Sync" window it has a progress bar that works for incoming emails but not for outgoing. The progress bar (to the left of Details) should a green bar building up from left to right to indicate how far it's got with that job, this works fine for incoming emails, but not at all for sending emails. That's my problem. Sorry I wasn't clearer.

I notice I can turn on or off something that could have that bar. Again, you may be clear but this is Microsoft. I've seen such oddities as I move from machine to machine and while I might be able to track it down, the details are bizarre at times. For example one time it was Aero that needed to be enabled, the next time it was different from xp to vista to 7.
