I have windows live mail on windows 7.Suddenly in my attempt to open attachments, I get a popup that says "invalid image. pdf" it is opening in Picaso. These are documents. I don't know why they are opening in picaso or how to change it back to whatever program should be opening them. Photos open as they should, it's just documents that don't. I tried 'save as' to try to change it. But that doesn't work either.

Did you try opening it with Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader?

As to File Associations I don't want to upset any member by pointing out how to make a associations. That's pretty basic for Windows skills but some took offense so I won't.

If you are concerned with offending me - don't worry. My skills are too basic. I don't know how to change how it gets opened. I looked in accounts and couldn't find anything that said how to open attch.. When I click on the att. it automaticly opens in picaso. I think that is the problem, somehow it got changed from Adobe. And I'm afraid I don't know what a file association is let alone how to make one.

The change as to what app to open the file with is not in the email apps. It's a Windows setting so let's get an article about this for Windows 7.

It could be as simple as using the Open With option but let's cover all the bases.
