WLM major problems

I am having major headaches with Windows Live Mail. I bought a new computer and I want to move my old mail to the new machine. I have the old hard drive as a secondary drive in the new machine. I have tried:

1 - Copying the entire WLM directory structure to the new WLM.
2 - Importing from the old directories.
3 - Uninstalling the new WLM and starting from scratch.

The files are in the proper directories, but WLM just doesn't see them. If I create a new folder, and copy/move one of the imported files there, it shows up. However, if I close WLM and restart it, it "repairs" the WLM database and the new folder is no longer there.

I have run out of ideas. Can anyone help?

I don't understand your reply. Anyway, the day after I posted this I decided to give it one more try. Import magically worked and I got all my old emails pulled over to the new machine.

And was put off by the problems. Microsoft didn't have much to say about it (it's free software?) so I went to Thunderbird. At least the open source model means anyone can fix something and they have.

Good to read it finally worked.
