Forgotten Password/Account recovery

I have been having a problem since the most recent dashboard update.

Basically when I try to sign into my live account it asks for my windows live email address and then password.
The problem is the email address required and its password I haven't used for at least 2 maybe 3 years and I have forgotten the password and answer to the secret question !

<div>I have phoned Xbox support and Microsoft and despite proving who I am and that it is my account they wont give me the password therefore I have tried every solution to the point I am not allowed any more this would include the windows live recovery form and the forgotten password secret question option.

I have been told to go on forums that have experts to seek help and/or advice.

I need this password to access my Xbox live or I lose everything! Please can anyone help?

DO NOT FALL FOR THE SCAMMERS THAT CLAIM THEY WILL FIX THIS. DO NOT PAY THEM!

Ok, only Microsoft can resolve this. They sent you away because they don't want to deal with you any more.

thankyou for the warning much appreciated.

Do you know any reason why they wouldnt want to deal with this ? because at the moment when I prove who I am and that it is my account and I ask why they cant just give me a password or send me a rest link to my current email address all they can say is "they are not permitted to do that"

I have phoned xbox support they said they dont deal with password problems and just recommended that I use windows live to fix this :/

I dont know what else I can say to them ?
