Windows Live Mail Sucks

I recently purchased a new laptop loaded with Windows 7 home premium after having happlily run a Vista business loaded laptop until the mother board died.
Windows 7 has performed well but the new windows live mail programe is a dog. I am not sure where microsoft get off in designing and imposing on customers something that is such a retrograde step back from a perfectly functional and workable e mail programe that existed in vista.
The two main gripes that I have so far encountered are that it is no longer possible to e mail a sheet out of an excel workbook and when I try to e mail a photo from my picture library I encounter a window that tells me to sign into windows live mail. When I cancel this (as is an option) the message is deposited into my outbox and any subsequent attempts to send it result in error messages and it fails to send.
On top of this I find the interface of the programe complicated, cluttered and a pain to navigate.
Am I alone?
