Go to Tools, Options, Send, Mail Sending Format, HTML Settings.
Uncheck "Indent message on reply".

These options do not exist in my version of "Windows Live Mail." Are you sure you are not referring to Outlook Express?
They are available in all versions of WLM...

Note, however, that the menu bar is hidden by default; you must press the Alt key to display the menu, then follow Jeff's directions from there. (Tools->Options->etc...)

"Indent message on reply" was already unchecked, but I still have blue lines when I forward.
(NT) Then forward as PLAIN TEXT.
