Need help fixing my email...Please
by cybertherapy - 11/23/08 11:43 AM
To start - I'm a middle-aged novice at computer workings And language - so please be gentle...but I Really need help (of an internet guru?):
INFO:
Dell E1505 Laptop
Windows IE 8.2 Beta
Windows XP (Media Edition?)
Use Firefox 3.0 sometimes
Recently use Google Chrome, too
PROBLEM:
I cannot send email! Every time I try, I get this error message....
"The Host, "SMTP" could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly." Account: "POP3," Server "SMTP,"
Protocol: SMTP, Port 25, Secure (SSL):, No Socket Error:11001, Error Number :0x800CCC0D."
I have No idea what this means ! If the answer was in front of me - I probably wouldn't know it - or what to do with it if I did.
Can Somebody, Anybody please take a little time to explain this to me like a 5th grader?
I believe I have to do something, with some kind of settings...that's the full and complete extent of my knowledge in this area.
Please Help - I haven't been able to use my email in literally One Year!

P.S. I came upon this site by accident...If you're kind enough to help, please tell me where I need to look on the internet for your solution.
Thanks ever so much!
