Windows Mobile forum: Need Outlook? Windows Mobile 6.1

There are three options:
1.) Use Outlook, which is all ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center supports by default. Unfortunately, Microsoft has no plans to add support for Windows Live or third-party products.
2.) Purchase third-party software that supports syncing with Outlook alternatives, such as SyncExpress. Note that each such program has its own list of supported programs it can sync with.
3.) Use PIM Backup (freeware) to manually sync your contacts and tasks with your preferred Outlook replacements using this process and its reverse.

Option #3 is tedious, so it may be worth the $20 to purchase a program like SyncExpress, but it is a solid option if you find yourself rarely syncing your data with your desktop/laptop.

For email and contacts, you can use Microsoft's Windows Live Mail or Mozilla's Thunderbird, and for tasks and calendars you can use Mozilla's Windows Live Mail or Mozilla's Sunbird. Those are all free options, with more robust paid software available as well.
