Windows Mobile forum: WWN0 device unloaded, cannot start

Thanks! Yes, I did the hard reset yesterday. The device will not load again. However, Fring and IE and Google Maps can now connect, but Skype won't even launch.
Anyways, I think the WWN0 device is to do with the mobile phone's network connectivity, not the wi-fi. And since it is a Japanese PHS system it has no changes of working outside of Japan, so maybe this doesn't really matter.
If anyone knows differently, please let me know.

If by "attempt to usurp" you mean that I am using it in Europe, while it was intended for the Japanese market and for the Japanese operator Willcom - then yes.
The PHS network is not available outside Japan. However, what I want to understand is whether this device (WWN0, wwan.dll) is related to the operator-provided internet access or not. If it is related - then I would understand why it is unloaded. It doesn't make much sense though, because the loader does not know if the network is available or not BEFORE the device loads...

Well, just think of the device as a pocket PC without cellphone functions.
I have stopped three processes which belong to the phone - not Windows components. With or without them, however, the said device was unloaded. And it's a Windows device, isn't it?
I still do not understand its importance - perhaps little because VoIP clients now work (after a hard reset). I think I mentioned it above - initially, Google Maps, the built-in IE, Fring would all return connection error when launched (while Opera, NetFront, Skype and Total Commander - as LAN and FTP all worked) so I thought the device unloaded was THE problem. Hard-resetted, device still unloaded, the above now work, but Skype is failing.
So, to reformulate the question - do I need this device and what for?
