Dell Dimension 8400 wont start :(

Everytime I turn on my Dad's Dell Dimension 8400, It comes up with Safe Mode and things like that. I click on Start Windows Normally, I see windows XP booting then I get a black screen, a few minutes later the BSOD appears saying STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}. SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME I NEED MY FILES OTHERWISE MY DAD WILL KILL ME
