Clarification request: Check and verify

I'll check Intel's support website for that mtrbd. chipset, 945G(Intel 945G Express) and allow that to explain possible cpus. I do suggest you know 100% what your current cpu, as in STK# which further explains it class type/class. Thus, you can find comparable cpus.

Next, if you're complaining about your service# is not being accepted, be 100% you're entering the right number. Yeah, sometimes mistakes happen, get a magnifying glass if you have to, sometimes an 8 looks like a B, or an I is like a 1, notice the minor difference.

I'm not sure if this post was seen so i'm re applying it.

i didn't realise that photo was meant to be the same as mine i didn't check. fitting a video card isn't a problem and finding drivers isn't eitherbut understanding what card is suitable for my machine is thats the bit i don't understand but i'll try my best.
ok the differances are my
+5vfp is 2A

I come away thinking that the CPU is not where the big gains are but the video card as many are trying to get some game boosted.

i checked the service code and its def right i checked it in a few different places on the machine and all read as the same.
my video card is NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT and i also forgot to mention i've got a kingston ssd Drive in it
how do i find out 100% what the current cpu is, as in the STK#?

Even that 65 buck card is going to trounce the old 8500 (badly!)

You might have to look at the full review to see if the power supply will do or not. I don't see details in your posts. There are a lot of these Dells out there so without the power supply details, I can't guess what you have in that box.

I look at the label on the side of the power supply. I think in 2 decades I came across 2 power supplies that the info was missing.

Seems easy.

it did have that info there but as this side looses me i didn't know exactly what you wanted. what info do you need off of it, or shall i see if i can get a photo? if i new how to post them

If it didn't match then tell that. But look at my next post about an all too similar discussion.

I know this stuff is technical but if you are in over your head, then you may want to not do this. Imagine if you did replace your video card and you needed to install drivers and more.

Today's products no longer come with manuals, tutorials and such. I fear the race to low cost has come at a very high price.

Unlike paid tech support you got to get out of the car, help with finding the jack, wrench, spare tire and help along.

Some folk forget that and get upset.

Please read further down a discussion with an eerily similar post with a nearly same power supply and it does work.

If you wish, shop for a PSU with double this rating if you want to feel safer.

It's pretty amazing the post there also notes a +12V rail with 18A. For 70 bucks this has got to be the bargain upgrade.

While I'd like to see a PSU double that size, it appears it will work.

BUT and this is very important, be sure to get out the canned air and do you every few month cleaning and test the machine before you pop in the new video card.

You may find the GT-610/620/630 series a good fit for basic or non-gaming PCs. it will provide a decent video and isn't that costly. It's also a low-profile type video card and comes in passive or active cooling which some users may like. Further, it adds the selction of various output ports, to include HDMI.
