Upgrading a XPS 710 Desktop Vid Card...Need Help

by m3atpuppet - 5/9/12 9:52 AM

I have a roughly 3 year old XPS 710 desktop and would like to get an updated video card. My problem is in researching different choices, I'm reading that the particular motherboard on this rig is rare and may not fit newer cards.

I'm looking specifically at getting a nVidia GeForce GTX 560ti, but I don't want to buy the thing only to find it's the wrong chipset or my comp has an inadequate power supply or whatever (I'm fairly hopeless when it comes to hardware)

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

My specs:

I currently have an nVidia 9500gt. I'd like to upgrade to something in the 150-200$ range. Any advice would be great. I should mention that I'm upgrading specifically for Diablo 3. I played the open beta and it ran OK, but I've been waiting so long for this damn game that I'd like the experience to be as smooth as possible. Thanks!
