I'd like to add more RAM to my Dell Inspiron 570 desktop which is 64 bit. It originally came with 4 GB and I'd like to double that. The OEM chips are Samsung (2X2GB) DDR3, SDRAM, 1066mhz, DIMM, 2Rx8, PC3, 8500U, 1.5V.
I haven't got much of a clue what most of that means but I am having a hard time finding those exact chips to buy as a set to compliment my existing chips. I see lots of other Samsung 2GB, 1066mhz DDR3 chips but with slightly different figures than my OEM chips have. Dell support suggests that I add a set of their 2GB 1333mhz chips.
My understanding is that a 64 bit system needs a minimum of 4GB of RAM just to function so there's got to be room for speed improvent here. I'm not a big video watcher but I do play so simple games and I often have multiple windows and tabs open at once.
Please help...
