How to use this SIM card slot that is under my Battery

I bought this new Dell Inspiron 1564 and found that it has a SIM card slot in it, but i cant use it because the slot is bigger than the conventional SIM card and even if i insert a SIM inside and it is not detected..

So all i want is the answers for the following questions..

Is it really usable..?
Is there any sort of specific driver or software i need in-order to use it..?
if so please provide download link...

Are you sure that's not for an SD Card?

I don't know myself, but when I looked at the specs for this model, that's what I saw;

I guess you went for the wrong laptop..

My laptop is of a different configuration than what u saw as mine has an i5 2.40ghz , 4gb ram , 500 gb hard disk etc..

And hey i am sure that it is an SIM slot as that is what it says in the manual and as i said this thing is under the battery.. SD readers don't go there do they..?

See what the manual says about it.

Or, head over to Dell's web site, input your Service Tag number and see what the specs show for your own model.

Sim Card Slot

This SIM card slot is for use with a WWAN card for an AT&T or T-Mobil subscription.

How u installed its driver?

I inserted the sim into the slot but it isn't showing up.Is there any driver to install or I have to do sumthing other than this.Help me Please.
