What to try next with my laptop?

So I was having tremendous over-heating problems with my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop therefore decided enough was enough, I would try clean the filter:
I followed these instructions:

but I did use an antistatic wrist band thingy as I thought this would help reduce the risks
However after following the instructions given, I turned my laptop on and no response...
1) It turns on
2) Fan powers on as normal
3) Power LED lights on and remains on (no other LED's turn on)
4) Nothing appears on screen then after a few seconds the laptop turns off
5) It then tries again to reboot, the same occurs but the disk drive is checked as the LED on it flashes
I have a feeling the processor has been damaged, I was careful and I used thee antistatic wrist strap but I know that this is sometimes not enough
- Anyone know what I should do with the laptop now? -
- Is it game over? -
Thanks ![]()
