10 months old and the hard drive crashes.....dell quality???

by arlo_price - 1/18/10 10:09 PM

This message about my 10 month old dell 'frustrateron 1545' is brought to you via my 11 YEAR old IBM Aptiva w/ windows 98.

10 months old and the hard drive shells, kaput, crashed, DOA !!!

dell just about had me, 53 days left on the dell factory warranty. I'm thinkin' a dell programmer/engineer screwed up, miscalculated, made a boo boo!!!

I'm sure it was 'sposed to fail shortly after the expiration of the 1 year factory warranty being that after being hammered countless times to purchase an extended warranty, I declined.

Wonder how long the replacement hard drive they are sending me will last??? Will it be the right one or will we play this game for 52 days whence the warranty will have expired:

"sorry it's the wrong one, we'll send the right one after you return the wrong one..." ????

Nuttin' but problems with this POS.

I've been in retail sales for 30+ years, if I had sold as lousy a piece of merchandise as dell sold me and treated a consumer the way I've been treated by dell, I'd have to spend time in jail.

Oh well, we'll start shopping for a new laptop and desktop tomorrow. Sure am glad I personally found out about dell 'quality' and 'reliability' before spending the really big bucks for my business computer needs.

dell sux
