Upgrading Memory (Ram) in a Dell XPS 420

Hello,
I have recently purchased some Ram for my dell XPS420
2x [Corsair XMS2 TWIN 2X2048-6400C4 2GB (2X1GB) PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL 4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual Channel Memory].
I removed the current memory from my computer (2x 1gig) and went to put in the 4 new peices. My comp beeped at me then didn't start up.
I removed 2 of the new sticks and it worked just fine.... I thought that I may have installed the ram wrong, so I tried putting the extra ram in again only to see the same problem.
I then thought that it might be Faulty ram, so I switched them around and again it worked with 2GB; however, not with 4.
Running Windows 7 64bit
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
