Dell Inspiron 1525 8 hard drive crashes less then a month!!

I have a 15 month old Dell inspiron 1525 core 2 duo. A little less than a month ago the hard drive crashed I lost 200 gigs of movies music hard drive wouldn't reinstall or repair at all. I bought a new hard drive worked fine 2 days later crashed again, reinstalled, and it just keeps crashing randomly everything else works fine up until it crashes this last time my replacement hard drive is also bricked and doesn't seem to work At all. Computer is 3 months out of warranty. I have had nothing but problems with this Dell. Every crash costs me sooo much time and money, this is so frustrating. Any help would be greatly apppreciated.

Putting that little jumper on the replacement drive to limit the SATA speed to 1.0?

The warranty on the drive is year to years.

You have a warranty so use it.

As to the jumper, it's in the drive's documentation. If you want the figure, page number or such detail just share the exact model of the drive and I'll see if I can dig up that detail.

It's a western digital 2.5 Sata wd3200bmvs is the model number I think.
When I run diagnostics I get error code 0141 no drive detected .. Most of the
time bios won't detect HD but if I reseat HD
Battery etc and restart sete bios
recognizes it but it still won't boot. Thanks

Drive connections mean

That the cable or the motherboard connections are likely failing BUT look at the RPS jumper since pulling it back can help such issues.

Sorry but this drive does not show the option for SATA 1.5 speeds. You may want to try the WD2500BEAS or WD2500BEVS models next time.

i'm having the exact same issue

and it seems alot of people are. the 1525 must have a faulty controller, it'd really be super if dell could acknowledge this. i'm going to try the SATA 1.0 jumper. my 1525 has already gobbled up two hard drives in a month. the brand new one had vista setup already saying it was going to fail soon. I figured it may be the usual suspect of windows setup needing to boot up in IDE Native mode, i couldn't find that option in the BIOS and instead flicked off flash cache and went from AHCI to ATA mode which i figured might be the same thing. still no dice. a brand new hard drive managed to succesfuly install windows but with lots of loud grinding clunking and clanking, and windows after two days of usage is telling me the hard drive is dying and to backup / get a new one. this is two drives in a row.
