Dell Vostro 1400 battery problem

Hi Dell people,
I just purchased a Dell Vostro 1400 around June 2008. I use it for studying, working, and the internet. I don't play games or use any intensive software.
Recently, a message has been popping up that says: "Your battery is reaching the end of its usable life. However, you may still continue to recharge it as usual." or something to this degree.
What do I do about this now? I know my warranty expired recently, but would that cover it? What's the best thing for me to do to get this problem solved?
