Galaxy Note GT-N7000 memory issues

by DAFTCHILD - 4/12/13 10:48 AM

I have a Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (on 4.0.4) and I have had it for about a year. I have a 32gb SD card inside and have had since I got the phone. Recently my phone has had a couple of memory issues and I cant seem to find anything on the internet that resolves them.

The most important issue is that my phone will not allow me to access certain parts (gallery especially, also apps that use gallery) because it says I do not have enough memory. When I look in the storage section it lists my memory usage as below:

INTERNAL MEMORY
Total: 1.97gb
Free: 1.09gb

USB STORAGE:
Total space: 11.07gb
Apps: 6.84gb
Pictures: 2.52gb
Audio: 208kb
Misc: 4.25gb

SD CARD
Total space: 29.71gb
Free space: 26.77gb

The Note either comes with 16/32gb internal memory so even if I only have 16gb I should still have enough space to read my messages. I have deleted as much as I can but certain apps wont work from the SD card so I am unsure how I can clear anything more.

The other concern is that the SD card randomly stops being recognised and then the phone will recognise it again. Sometimes it wont happen for weeks. When it does happen it will last from 5 minutes to a few hours, though the longest has been a week (which was infuriating) The card works fine in a PC and, when the phone does recognise it, it works fine on the phone.

The main area I really need help with the freeing up memory so I can use my phone so if there is anything you can suggest that would be excellent. Sorry if I am repeating previous discussions.
