One device to render them all

I have the following devices and trying to figure out what's the best hardware/software to add that will make my life easier and let me play the media I want on the devices I want!
Samsung LN52A750 TV
Onkyo TX-NR515 AV Receiver
Apple TV v2
HP MediaSmart Server
Several Windows desktops/laptops
Several Samsung Galaxy tablets/smartphones
I have been using my Xbox 360 to render my video library which typically works, although I do have videos that are encoded with codecs that the Xbox 360 doesn't support. Although my TV and Blu-Ray player both are DLNA certified, neither of them will render many of my videos that are DIVX or XVID encoded. I'm starting to use my Samsung tablets/smartphones as remotes which seems to be working. The Apple TV is a bit of a mystery as most of the computers/devices in the house are not Apple devices.
All said, what device would allow me to replace the Xbox 360 (as it sucks power and generates way too much heat) and render more videos? Roku? Xbmc on Apple TV? Different software on my Windows PCs or HP Mediasmart server?
