Help! Connecting Samsung HDTV to Acer Aspire Laptop

Hello! I need some help, or maybe I'm just missing the big picture. But I cannot seem to find "how to" or a cable that will connect my Samsung 46" LCD HDTV LN46E550 (has HDMI inputs) and my Acer Aspire 5250(seems only to have VGA input/output?) laptop. Both ends appear to need to be 'male' since you can only plug into them. Anyone know of anything that can do this? Where to find? Or any tips?

No need, of course, to buy something from Dell. But now you know what you're looking for: a vga to hdmi converter with audio.

Okay, so maybe I should now ask- Is the converter necessary? Or do you think an adapter ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/20551746?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=&wl3=21486607510&wl4=&wl5=pla&veh=sem ) would be fine? Audio not necessary from the TV if that would be the case.

It goes from a HDMI PC to a VGA TV/projector.

Getting audio from the TV when looking at the TV seems very pleasant to me. It has much better sound than a laptop. I would only forget about that if the laptop was already connected to my home theater system for sound.

Did not realize that! I was going to head out and buy that! Thank you much! Any cables necessary when buying the converter? My TV is mounted against the wall, so a 3 foot long cable would probably be necessary for me to reach the laptop
