Samsung LED TV to External Speakers

Using the Red and White phono audio cables from the L+R ouput from TV, I am trying to connect this to a Pro-logic hi-fi set up.

The TV audio itself seems to be working fine, yet when selecting the external speakers, I am getting no sound at all. I've tested the cables using other sources. Freeview and DVD players and seems to be working fine. Is there something I am doing wrong or is this possibly a fault?

Please tell the model number of the TV, and - if possible - give a link to the user manual.

If never seen a phono (gramophone) or even a phone connecting to a TV audio with red/white RCA connectors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA_jack). Nor headphones for that matter.
But the user manual should tell more.

Like Kees said, the model number would be very good, but could you also provide the model number for the device you're trying to connect to.

Bose Cinemate connected to audio output of UN50ES6100

Hi all,

I just received my UN50ES6100 and connected my bose cinemate directly with no receiver. I set the sound setting to exterior speakers, PCM (this is the only option-why?). I can't get any audio. I used the same speakers on my now deceased LN46b650 and it was perfectly working!

Can someone sugget a fix for this? Thanks in advance.

p.s. visually the tv is great once all the proper tweeking with the settings have been set.

Hi All,

I'm going to guess you're trying to connect this with the optical cable, right? Any chance you can do the standard things: swap the ends of the cables, try another optical cable, etc.?
