Power yes, but Wiselink recognizes USB storage only. Unless someone else has come up with a method...

But that's not exactly what you wanted to know. As there is no PC or support for a device like (link to follow) then can you reveal why you can't use the usual optical or minijack output to the stereo or such?

Thanks for your reply. I'm using an Audioengine D1 - http://audioengineusa.com/Store/audioengine-d1-tech#.URxBi6kil8E.

When I looked at the manual's shot of the back of the TV before, I missed the S/PDIF out port. That should work just fine to the back with the D1, without having to convert.

Since I'm not familiar with digital optical connections and the manual doesn't identify which type the digital optical audio out is, I better ask. S/PDIF or TOSLINK - or are they the same? The Audioengine side is S/PDIF. Thanks,

Thanks for clarifying that and all your helpful replies! Now with a digital cable, the question would be whether my cable remote volume control will be recognized when the TV's internal speakers are muted. See my other thread, especially where the problem gets clarified toward the end (link below). So far using RCA interconnects off the TV's audio out port, and with the internal speakers muted in Settings, the remote's volume control isn't recognized. Only using the headphone port has worked, because that one mutes the internal speakers by default.
