You cannot temperature control the fan but noctua supply a low noise adapter (a wire with a resistor) so you can reduce the rpm.

By the way. It is not the fan that's noisy. It's the cutouts in the backplane of the amplifier that makes the system noisy.. If samsung had made a solution with a round hole of the same size as the fan, and mounted a protection grid of round wire upon the fan. They would not have the noise issue.

I just got my HT-ES8200 back from beeing repaired by secundary company that is allied to Samsung.They gave me a new subwooferbox and changed the main board, at least, that is what they say.
Also the firmware has been degraded to 1012, and believe it or not, now it works as it should, the system does not switch off after 30 min anymore!
And they gave me the strong advice NOT to upgrade to firmware 1013 !!!!!
I have this black and white on paper, so this proves that 1013 was bugged.

But unfortunately the fan still is very noisy and because you have some experience with this issue, I have a question to you, mr. Slipperman, maybe you can help me:
I want to make this fan temperature controlled and to buy the correct components I would like to know the voltage supply of this fan. Is it 5 or 12 Volt or maybe any other voltage?
I would appreciate it very much if you would give me this answer.

Still, I cannot understand that Samsung made such a huge design error with this noisy fan!
Specially in classical music there are a lot of silent passages, and then is a noisy fan very, very annoying!

I think it's worth for eveybody to put pressure by calling the local Samsung Support to highlight this huge issue.
Please provide also the link to this forum claiming that we are many customers suffering of having update the FW to the 1013.3. and will be even more angry customers as time passes by.

Personally I did not pay hundreds of euros for buying a nice, noisy faulty home cinema.

Got the answer from samsung norway, and they havent heard about any firmware issues, and therefore asked me to update to the newest version. Which i of course already have done......:(

Shall answer them again, and inform the forum what happens.

Reading the topic and all the answers I am quite sure that the issue about the 30min shutdown is a bug in the firmware 1013.3 and it's most likely a huge World issue!!
The firmware 1013.3 was released on 28 jan 2013 and in February people began to complain, as far as I can see in England, France, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands.
I am from the Netherlands and I have exactly the same issue: after about 30 min the HT shuts down but only when watching TV. When using DVD, CD, Blu-ray, Smart-TV, vTuner etc. it works OK, except for the very noisy fan which is simply a design error!!!
To solve this issue I have been communicating with Samsung by Email, SamsungWorld and by telephone starting 5 Feb 2013 and they said me to update the firmware, reset the system, shut off the automatic update service, shut off the ARC, and a lot more, but nothing was effective to solve the problem!
There are only two (!) replies from Samsung on this topic, so it seems that Samsung is denying everything.
There is a very simple solution: correct the firmware and release it, and if it's not possible to do that, release the previous version again!!

I would like everyone to do what I am going to do: sent Samsung Support a mail every day and coll them every two or three days.....
Hopefully that works!

I suggest to write directly on the SAMSUNG web page the review of the product.

We can all leave on the Review & Ratigns of the HT-ES8200 a really bad comment: the product is not usable with the latest FW 1013.3.

All the world in every country will know about the inneficiency of this home cinema and maybe SAMSUNG will do something.

In reply to peykan69, I have just left a negative review for HT-ES8200. I suggest everyone having a problem with this product do that same.

It was there immediately I posted it. It looks like samsung has removed it when they saw it was a negative review. Have you noticed that there has been no review for this product on samsung website, which is a bit strange.

Could you please mention the country that you live in?
At this moment we have the same problem with the HT-ES8200 in England, France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands.
It appears that in all countries the same problem revealed around the same time: the end of January/start of February, clearly AFTER the release of firmware 1013.3 on the 28 of January 2013.
It is very clear that it isa firmware BUG!!
And still Samsung is not replying at all, it's a shame!

It is unthinkable to throw an update will be in the test correctly.

It's since weeks that SAMSUNG FRANCE is telling me the same.

I'm calling every two days to herass them: I want my homecinema working now.... I do not want them to make me wait until the warranty is ended.

Anyway, personally, I put the pressure to change my homecinema with another one: I did not buy a firmware but a system.. and the system is not working.. so SAMSUNG needs to change it...
They're really scared... could you imagine how many homecinemas they should change???

This will make them move faster to deliver a right firmware

Dear all you unfortunate people,

I just got two answers by Email (!!!) from mr. Vincent van Rees from the Samsung Customer support Center, the Netherlands:

First mr. van Rees says that the HT-ES8200 automatically switches off after 30 min is to protect plasma televisions to burn in....This is complete nonsens, mr. van Rees does not know what he is talking about!
It has nothing to do with any connected television, it has to do with the digital input D-in !!
When any sound source is connected to this digital input D-in, the HT-ES8200 switches off automatically after 30 min.

Secondly mr. van Rees, on behalf of Samsung, admits that there are some failures within firmware 1013.3 and that Samsung is aware of that. Samsung is working hard to solve these failures within a short time!
Also mr. van Rees advised me to check regularly the availability of new firmware on the Samsung website!!
I really hope mr. van Rees knows what he is talking about regarding the second answer!!

Does this information give us some hope?
Officially Samsung still does not give any information about this issue which is a very very big shame!

Samsung Germany is ignoring to have any problems with our Home Entertainment System.

If they will not change their mind, nothing will happen.

Result: I never will buy any other Samsung products in the future.

Was same to me in Germany. After I contact several times the customer service, they told me I can wait for a new FW or send it to a repair shop that they can flash the old FW. I never had that kind of bad service! Bought yesterday a new home cinema (not from Samsung). Will wait now for the new Samsung FW to sell out that rubish with a working noisy fan

I hope it is 15 March 2012, not March 2015 ......

I've called again SAMSUNG FRANCE: my rocket seems to be under deep investigation since two weeksby the Technical Support Level 2... a kind of SAMSUNG Genius Bar...

I've asked to be contatcted asap by those 'experts': SAMSUNG says that this FW issue is known and that they're working on that and 'soon' they'll provide a solution....

With 'soon' they did not provide any delivery date.

I tolde them once again that I want my HT-ES8200 to be replaced: it's not conform to the specifications because it simply does not work.

I've just spoken to technical support of Samsung Netherlands. They told me that a new version of the FW will be released within two to three weeks.....

And in 3 weeks they are telling us that the release will be delivered in 3 month.

Very, very poor.

Over the next 2 weeks I will give them a chance. After this time I will kick them out off my home.
