Samsung TV fault - horizontal bands on left side

Hi All,

I have had the issue mentioned above for several months, 4 bands across the left 2/3 of the screen where the picture seems to cross over each band in various magnifications.

Does anyone know what causes this and if it can be repaired? The TV is less that 3 years old so it out of warranty but I really dont want to have to spend on a new one.
