Samsung forum: Samsung Laptop

Yes its annoying as everytime you switch the laptop on you have to confirm 4 different user account boxes before you can do anything i dont want these to run and cannot see them in the startup list after typing msconfig

I have the RV515 here and don't see such on startup. Is there something you can share about changes you've made to this unit since you got it?

It sounds like you have UAC set to high: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/user-account-control

And perhaps you're not using the Admin account?

The office picked up those RV515's for a very nice price. We use them to demo our apps and the units are really great for the price.

Under 5 seconds from opening the lid to getting on the web and other nice touches.

Out of the box the security settings don't do what the OP writes so I wonder what's different. I am in luck here because we have that model in the office.

I have done nothing to the laptop other than create a user account for myself other than the administrator account, which i had to do as the Zune Software for my phone would not install under admin account and i was advised by Nokia (who the Zune software is used to sync stuff to my phone is used for)
Using Admin account the laptop is perfect has very quick startup and runs like a dream
When logging in as a guest user i get wifi manager,Battery Life extender and about 3 other User account prompts asking for permission to run that i have to stick in my admin password before they go that is the only thing i have done

That helped. As you suspect such things don't work on guest or less than admin accounts. It's clear to me now what's going on.

Hi Thanks for the link but i have no idea what to change the user account type to!! Im not very tecchie minded so an explanation in very plain english would help!

I'm hard pressed to determine how to improve on these instructions from Microsoft:

Open User Accounts by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking User Accounts and Family Safety, clicking User Accounts, and then clicking Manage another account. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the account you want to change, and then click Change the account type.

Select the account type you want, and then click Change Account Type.

Thanks for the info i just didnt understand what type of account i needed to change it to Have changed the Guest account i set up as another administrator so hopefully it will not keep prompting
