Frustrated with Samsung

I have a BD-C5500 Samsung Blue Ray Player that does not support a browser. I can upgrade by replacing it with a newer model that has web access, but there is no keyboard or mouse supplied. I
do not want to spend lots of bucks to either upgrade my player or buy a smart TV. I think it would be
very doable for Samsung to do a firmware update for my player to allow access to my PC. I now
have an ethernet cable running from my AT&T Router to the Blue Ray Player. I can stream things like Netflix, but I really want web access. I would be satisfied with a software simulated Qwerty
keyboard visible on the TV.
I think Samsung is holding back on this to force people to buy either one of their smart TV's or a
new Blu-Ray Player. It may be a marketing trick that could backfire on them.
