Hi-
I have a 3 yr old Samsung LCD -out of warranty. It started out showing distortion (with fine white horizontal lines) on the right side of the TV but that went away when the TV warmed up (about 30mins or so). Now the distortion stays on permanently. It appears over the menu screen as well as different sources, so it is definitely the TV.
I'm trying to determine if it is the t-con board or something else before I order the part.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please supply the model number with all the letters and numbers at the beginning and end of the number of the model. This sounds like an issue I know about but instead of me responding with the issue or not because it doesn't apply, we start with asking for the model number.

That search notes another common HDTV and display issue. Your tech should try that.

Thank you for finding this! It sounds like the plan should be:
- Clean LVDS cable
- If this doesn't work, replace t-con board
- If this doesn't work - it is a bad panel in which case the repair cost wouldn't make sense
