Samsung Crystal Surround Air Track - NO SOUND!

Just bought a Samsung Crystal Surround Air Track, Model HW-C451. It was second-hand and did not include the subwoofer or any cables. I have tried attaching it to my computer using a headphone jack-to-headphone jack connector, into the "audio in" on the back of the sound bar, but I am getting no sound whatsoever. The volume levels are all properly adjusted on the bar and the computer (sound plays fine out of my laptop speakers!) and all power cords are connected properly. The user manual is not helpful at all.

It has missing parts and appears to be non-functional. Replacement of parts, repairs are likely to run more than a new unit.
