Samsung forum: Broadcast sound language setting won't save, any idea?

I have thought about this, but it's the only setting that I cannot save. Really it's saved, the funny thing is the setting returns to Spanish after 10 sec after powering in. The fact is if you are displaying this menu, you can see the change in live, I mean, you can see how it changes on the screen. It's annoying, really...

Sorry but you didn't tell me you changed it to home mode so it's still possible that it is still in shop or demo mode.

If you covered that, then time to call it in to report the bug. Remember they will ask for the firmware version along with the other details so be sure it's current.

Well, when I turned on the tv for the first time, during the configuration process, a dialogue appeared asking if it was for home or shop, and selected home... Anyway, many thanks for your response. I opened a ticket on Samsung support, waiting for the answer now. I will post it.

Note: I updated the firmware to the latest version. It seems to be a bug (unfortunately). If this is confirmed, do you know If Samsung provides a patch or similar? Or I will have to wait until the next firmware update?

In a new firmware release. Unlike Windows the entire firmware is issued in one big lump. Sorry but what I know about Samsung firmware is by second hand discussions at developer sessions.

I've realized that the issue occurs only when the channel that is tunned when the tv is on, is dual (has 2 language audio broadcasts). If the channel has only one (or the program being emitted at that time), the issue does not happen...

Perhaps it's Secondary Audio Programming (SAP). We call it mult-track sound (MTS). You might have an MTS button on the remote, or if not, check in the audio settings in the menu.

Thank to everyone for your responses... At the end, Samsung confirmed that it's not possible, because at least in Spain, digital channels broadcast in 'Spanish' and 'QAA' (that is original audio code), or in 'Spanish' and 'Undefined'. This issue happens with every other smart tv. I could check it for the smart models of LG and Philips. The funny thing is that my old Sony Bravia from 2006 supports this feature and works well...
