The internal "virtual" keyboard is one of the hardest to use I've encountered. Older people are likely not to be able to use it at all. You can CONNECT a USB keyboard to it ... the unit has THREE USB ports ....

But the APPS (Hulu, Netflox, etc) do not support the device


A smart TV with 3 USB ports - that does not support USB devices. It's hard to believe that a homo sapien with a multi-digit IQ did such a bad design design - and worse, that they sell it to an unsuspecting public.

I know folk want to see the PC like experience but this is a TV and about those apps. The ones that are not from Samsung tend to be the worst offenders. It's like your Windows laptop with a special feature. The apps must support it and since apps are not by the laptop maker, you might give the maker a free pass. Why?

Yes, I get your point, but then - this isn't rocket science, either.

I don't care who's fault it is - Samsung or Netflix - but the entire APP suite requires the use of alphanumeric characters

First, Samsung's virtual keyboard is terrible even by VK standards.
Second, the stupid thing has THREE USB PORTS and you're telling me that the brain trust that is Netflix (or samsung) NEVER THOUGHT that people would attempt to connect a keyboard so they could key in keyboard characters???

OH PLEASE!

My Iphone has a workable keyboard and the Google App for the Iphone understands the Iphone keyboard as do all the other 10 apps I have installed.

My Linux box has an alpha keyboard - and every application on my linux box understands characters typed on that one keyboard through the one driver.

The explanation given by Samsung leads me to believe that the Netflx app got loaded when a truck carrying Samsung TV's accidentally collided with a truck filled with Netflix software

Most people who read the box would assume that an "Internet ready Smart TV with 3 USB ports" meant that the unit understood USB the two most common USB peripherals in the world.

I would have been better off (and $200 richer) to have purchased an LG TV and an Apple TV converter.

Samsung is all excuses.

It's defective in your view so you have a great reason to send it back.

Samsung does need these returns to get the message that app faults like that are unacceptable.
