Samsung PN60E550 and Sony BDVE190 compatility issue?

Watching a digital copy of a 3D movie through the Sony Bluray player (waiting for my digital optical cord to show up) and every 20 minutes or so, the tv will turn off the 3D and I will see the usual double picture. Just wondering if this is a compatibility issue, as I don't seem to get this problem when playing straight through the television.

I'm very sorry to hear that has happened. If you could, please let me know how the two devices are currently connected. Also, you said the 3D will turn off. What is your notification of that? Is it just that suddenly you see a double image instead of 3D?

The two are connected with an HDMI cord. And the screen will go blank for second and then I will see the double images and the 3D glasses will turn off.

Do you happen to have any other devices connected that could provide a 3D video source? Have you tried to replicate the same behavior on them?

Hi,

I played the digital copy through an LG Smart TV upgrader and there were no issues with it. I just switched the TV to 3D mode and it stayed that way.

Hi Totalkaos3,

Based upon this information that your TV's displaying it properly from itself and another external source is working properly, it would seem there's some problem with the Blu-ray player disconnecting after a set period of time. I'd recommend you get support from Sony: http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/bdv-e190

1. Be sure all firmware is up to date in all products.

2. Try a shiny new HDMI 1.4a (or current specification) cable. These are painfully cheap (I use the AmazonBasics) and I've lost count how many times it helped.
