Help connecting my 40SE5500 smart tv to other devices

Hi,

I just bought the tv and not sure if i can make best use.
Was previously using an old CRT tv connected to a freeview HD recorder.

I think i can only connect the HDR via the scart lead??

Anyways, ideally what id like to do is use the tvs built in HD freeview tuner, but record to the HDR tuner, is this possible??

Also seem to have a scarcity of connection options to the rear of the tv. i dont yet have a blueray player and i think my existing dvd player can only connect via AV leads, likewise my wii, is there any other way without having to use converters??

No advice at all??

I am going to use a homeplug devoce to connect tv to broadband but still not sure best way of utilising connections for my PVR???

If i wish to use an external HDD in place of pvr what spec should i use??

Please help.

The Ambassador (M-F) often refers you back to your local Samsung support. SCART is very rare in the USA so I can't answer much about that.

As to HOMEPLUG I'm left to guess this is AC POWERLINE NETWORKING and that is not something I see Samsung support for. Your network specialist needs to be asked those questions but here I've used such without much todo.

For reasons we can guess, no USA model has a PVR feature. And the stories about USB 3.0 drives are LEGENDARY. You know you should stick to USB 2.0 and sizes that your local Samsung office will tell you about.

Additionally, USB POWERED DRIVES often misfire. I'm sure you know to avoid those as well.
Finally, before you ask, such recordings only play on the TV. And from reports, only on the TV that did the recording. Given how the content can vanish and is copy protected with no means or documentation of backup or restore, why would anyone want 3TB of such content?

do you guys not have pvr in the states then??
Tivo? nothing on cable that can pause or record live tv??

I wasnt aware that any tv contect can be copy protected for recording in such a way, perhaps in Uk its different.

1. We have PVRs but Samsung so far hasn't put it out on HDTVs. (smart move?)
2. Are you saying it plays on other PCs and such? So far all those I talked to say they could not find a way to play this on their PCs.
