Problems connecting Samsung tablet to Ad-Hoc on laptop

Hi all, I have internet via a mobile broadband dongle on my samsung R350 laptop, ive created an Ad-Hoc network and checked the sharing settings are right. The problem is I cant find the network on my samsung 10.1 tablet. If anyone knows if what I'm trying to achieve is possible and they know how then your help is very much appreciated.

Adhoc on Android was indeed hit and miss. This is why I use "Virtual Router" on our laptop when we want to share an internet stick.
