BD-C6500 wired network

Hi all
Got a blu ray c6500 player and I have constant network issues

I've got it connected via a wired (Ethernet) cable and it won't connect to the network!
Error comes up with: ip auto setting failed
It has a MAC address, IP address and subnet
No gateway or dns
What's strange is the subnet is set to 255.255.0.0 - it should be 255.255.255.0
Also the IP address is 169.254.116.45 - my network is on 192.168.0.xx

Dhcp is enabled on my router


I've tried the cable in my ps3 and Xbox and they both work fine! So this is not a network or router issue

I have the latest firmware from dec 2012 too

I tried a wireless connection and that does seem to work however it's slow and drops off all the time! So I want to use my wired network

I've also reset the box twice - no luck
I've gone over the setup again - no luck

Why doesn't the wired network work? This is basic stuff Samsung!!

We can't rule out the network yet.

Since some devices use Auto-MDX a crossover cable could indeed work on some things but not a TV.

But let's say your network is fine. It's clearly a warranty issue so you take it back for another or get it fixed.
