Just a quick note, I too have had problems with a new Samsung TV and Bluray. Nothing updated. Thought the SmartHub thing was broken. The place I bought it from said they would take it back. But I held my ground because I was able to download somthing called SmartMythTV from a site that has nothing to do with Samsung. And as soon as I did, I could use the application with out any problems. At this point I was totally confused until I found this thread. So, the bad news is Samsung is (was?) down. But, hey, the good news is, even if they were, (evidently) you can still build and download your own SmartHub applications. Yea!

Mine seems to be up and running. Icons out of order and having to log into some apps again...but working...about like before. I was kinda hoping it was being upgraded...no such luck.
Anybody seen or heard anything from Samsung?? No??

Hi
I am still experiencing problems, I note that there is no reply to anyones thread by anyone from Samsung - should that surprise me?
Samsung a kindly warning - Reputation is everything and with the internet word travels fast.
If someone could please just spit out the truth so everyone knows where they stand then there would be much less unsatisfied customers. You should consider that if the TV's we bought are not fully functional then they can be returned under the terms of the guarantee. There are many other companies to choose from, we spent our money and deserve some answers.
Crazy...

how long will this last?

I got my 32 inch ES550 TV only a week ago.
Was very impressed to begin with apart from the AllShare Play app. It seem very clunky on my PC and almost never connects to the TV. However, i can live with plugging my hard drive into the tv to watch things. I do plan to get this sorted but the smart hub itself is causing me issues over the past few days.
On Monday all my apps disappeared and I couldn't download them again. Yesterday it said it was updating and all the default apps were re installed. Today, they all went again apart from ITV player. and just now as I speak it seems all my apps are downloading again.
Slightly annoying as log on details, or paired devices are not remembered.
Glad to hear its not just my TV though.
Are samsung likely to update to fix this problem

Hi All,
I have same issue and my Smart TV is UE55ES6560 serie.
I live in Italy and I don't know if the problem is related to any country or it's a Samsung Server issue.
I'm afraid my TV is damaged...
Any help?

It would seem that as we are all complaining from different countries that it is not an issue with the TV but the Smarthub software/Samsung server.
They dont appear to care or more worryingly they dont have a solution to the problem.
Incredible!

If Samsung has not any idea it is very very strange!
I know they pretend a lot of assurance from they silicon provider and they do not guarantee to their customer???????????????????
What's probably going on...

Hi All,
The only connection I have to Samsung is that I bought a couple of their products.
This is just a guess, but I'm thinking that:
1) Samsung is probably over extending themselves because of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that runs from January 8th to the 11th.
2) It is likely that Samsung marketers at Las Vegas are "driving the bus" right now. It is likely the marketers are totally consumed with supporting the features on the TVs on the floor of the exhibit floors. Notice that Samsung has some of the biggest booths at the show.
http://ces13.mapyourshow.com/5_0/exhibitor_details.cfm?exhid=20002028
3) Autonomous field upgrades are one of the trickiest parts of support. There is always the risk of "bricking" the customer's equipment. I have no idea how Samsung deals with mitigating these risks. I just hope that they think through most if not all the upgrade scenarios to prevent such occurrences. So far, so good, from what I've read here.
I've re-read this and just wanted to make clear that I suspect that everyone's SmartHub is (mostly) connected back to Samsung. And if Samsung is making changes to accommodate the TVs on the floor at CES in Las Vegas, it might be possible that this will effect the rest of us.
(I say mostly because not all applications are maintained my Samsung. Samsung has made it possible to write your own applications. During the time I could not get any applications from Samsung, I was still able to download a 3rd party application and use it with no problems. I say that is very cool indeed.)
Smart Hub is Down!

I love this TV but I had a strange dialog box pop-up and state deleting 25 applications. WTF?
Smart Hub didn't work, Apps didn't work, just standard TV works.
I called Samsung and they told me the Smart Hub is down and to try again in 2 or 3 days!
So here I wait, but this makes me wonder will Smart Hub be available in 10 or 15 years.
I had several CRT TV's last over 15 years. I just wonder how long this service will be available?
I'm just guessing...

I'm just guessing, but I'm thinking if Samsung shut down their servers your applications would still be on your TV. I am thinking Samsung tried to issue an update and not everything was ready.
A more realistic problem might be how can you can keep up with changing formats or compression techniques which, say, Netflicks might use in the coming years if Samsung stoped supporting SmartHub.
Looking further into the future you might ask if your TV has the processing power to handle formats that are years off. For instance, your 1990's computer wouldn't stand a chance at decoding a Bluray disk. No matter what software you could get your hands on.

Hi all,
Sorry for not respond yet, but I've been reading these post. I'd like to get this a bit more organized if you don't mind. I realize that this is all an on-going problem for each of you, but if you could each post the following information, I'll try to answer each of you individually:
Product: Blu-ray Player/Home Theater/TV
Model: BD-E5900/UN60ES8000/HT-EM45C/etc.
Your symptom or error: "Apps are missing"/"Smart Hub says at start up, 'Error Model Bind'"/etc.

Product : TV
Model : UE32ES5500
Symptom Error: All apps were randomly deleted. Couldn't download them again. Following day after several times opening smart hub, it updated and installed all the default apps again. Not the ones I had installed manually first time. Log on details, paired devices etc were lost though. Had to set these up again.
Following day they were gone again apart from itv player. Again, after a while it said it was updating and reinstalled them. So far it's been ok since yesterday.
Thanks

[TV]UE46ES6100
All of my apps have gone, the hub just says 'connecting' and doesn't do anything. Where my default apps were it says "connect to the internet and enjoy a variety of contents through smart hub etc etc'. I have reset the tv, reinstalled the Smarthub, reset the Smarthub and I have the latest software update. I hardly ever get the same error message. I have had the tv for 3 weeks and it worked fine until last weekend
