Unable to get composite/component AV components working

I recently bought a TV off a friend. It's a Samsung LED, model UN40C5000QF, serial NF093MMZ600013F.

I'm unable to get any of the AV cables working. When I connect them, no matter what combination I try, the TV says either "Device not connected" or "Check signal cable".

To make things even more odd...there are only 4 ports in the back instead of 5. I'm not sure what to do! Please help.

See and use the "Lowest Quality Connection" noted at http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/EM/201009/20100906131100515/%5BUC5000-QSG%5DBN68-02629A-01Eng-0903.pdf

I didn't download the full manual but if your connections don't match this PDF then you may have the wrong model.
