Trouble with VESA bolt size

I'm sure this is a quick fix and common issue but I just purchased a Samsung LCD tv (UN40EH5000F) and I'm trying to have it mounted to my swivel mount stand. Problem is that I don't know what bolt size is used for the back panel? I've called around and was told M8 but I just saw a sizing chart online that said M6?

Nothing came with the tv or the stand and I want to make sure I'm threading the right size in the back of my tv. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

But there is no way to fit a M8 bolt into a M6 hole. M8 is 8mm and 6 is 6mm. If I pick up both it's a little easy to see why you can't make it fit.

I have both sizes in my kits and pick up the M8 first and test fit it.

Hi hewy60,

I checked my documentation. For the UN40EH5000F, it'll be 200 x 200 with M6 screws. I understand why there was some confusion. Previous to 2012 models, TVs of your size required M8 screws.
