Samsung fantastic Smart TV UE46ES8000u - Internet issue

I've a problem I haven't been able to crack for over a week now with a new Samsung UE46ES8000 SmartTV. No matter what I try I cannot get the Samsung Tv to connect to the wireless router. Have even upped my broadband line speed as the manual mentioned the TV didn't support bands below a certain speed. Alas, no joy.
Even changed a long overdue WEP inadequate security setting to WPA-PSK as I thought that might affect it. All four other wireless devices connected to router working flawlessly incidentally (laptop/printer/tablet/Samsung Galaxy). The Tv sees the router but when I enter passcode it won't connect. Have searched online without success.

There is a top post about connections with our routers and Samsung products.

There are many gotchas and limitations so the basic idea is "keep it simple."

The router defaults are OK for the first setup and the distance must be about 20 feet. DO NOT GET derailed by "it works fine with other things."

Hi SamFanCisco,

As a good initial step, I would suggest you turn off encryption. (I know you won't want to keep it that way, but this is just for testing.) Also, reduce the distance to the wireless access point, as Bob suggested, to 20 feet or so. This will skip past a bunch of complications. If it doesn't connect, you may need the WiFi module serviced.

But just so you know: I support US products and customers. And from what I can tell, this model is for UK. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) So if it needs servicing, here's the Samsung UK portal for support on that product: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/UE46ES8000UXXU

I commented to someone on a different thread. I too initially had issues with wireless with my UN55ES6500, and found that the reason I couldn't connect was that for whatever reason the device would not connect to my wireless because the SSID was in both upper and lower case. If possible, try adjusting the SSID to all lowercase and try again.
