Cable and Antenna connection

Can the Cable (unscrambled analog signal) and Antenna be connected in parallel to the single ANTENNA input? I have a UE55D7000 which has only one ANT input. Instead of plugging and unplugging the 2 separate coaxial cables I have 2 choises:
1. Connect the 2 coax cables to an A-B RF switch, in which case I need to move the switch back and forth .
2. Connect the 2 coax cables to a splitter (backwards), using the splitter outputs as inputs and the single input as an output going to the TV. I've tried it and it works. The advantage to this option is that you don't have any switches to move.
The question is: using option 2 will damage the TV in any way? The splitter is just a bare connector connecting the 2 coax inputs together. Does that cause damage to the TV because of the lower impedance?
