Anynet+ won't shut off sound - No reciver sound in Smart Hub

Does anyone have any advice for me, I have the 55ES7500 and an onkyo reciever. The tv is is connected through the reciever.

In the past when I shut off my tv but left my reciever on the sound on the reciever would shut off and stay off. Now if i shut off the tv I wait about 8-10 seconds the sound shuts off then it starts back up again?? i am confused.

In addition to this I have a problem with getting sound from my surround system any application from the smart menu. Again I had no problem in the past but now I only get the sound from the satelite? Not sure if these problems are connected to each other.

I have the input on the recieve set up for both Optical 2 for the satelite sound and HdMI return channel for the smart TV applications. The receive is also set up for HDMI return channel and on the TV input and is pluged into input 2 on the TV which is the ARC input. Not sure what changed but both issues started around the same time.

Any advice you have on either topic would be helpfull.

Hi dchobank,

Could I clarify a few things here:

1) Sound coming back on after TV has been turned off
a) Is the sound coming through the TV or the home theater?
b) what do you do to get the sound to stop?
c) Based upon your description, you're only getting sound from your STB, so is that the sound source when you've turned it off?

2) No sound from TV to receiver over HDMI ARC
