Connecting a Hd recorder

I have a Samsung Smart tv with built in freeview. I would like to connect a Humax Hd recorder, however this also comes with freeview. If I connect this, will it damage the freeview that is built in to my tv? Thanks

Hi,
The model number for my tv is UE32D6530. Would it be possible to connect my Humax HD recorder to this tv, even though it also comes with Freeview? In other words, would this interfere with the Freeview that is included with my tv? I have previously tried to connect this to a Sony tv, however it did not register as a new device, and wondered if this was due to the Freeview issue. Hope this makes sense. Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks

Let me comment about HD recording in this country.

Here in the USA there are so many reasons for HD recording to fail it's not funny. So far I have not seen any Samsung TV with the recording feature which is worthy of a discussion in itself. But moving on.

So far if you get a HD recorder you connect your source signal to that. That could be any number of signal systems so I can't guess what you have as sources for the HD content. But here, in the USA not one model I've seen have me use the HDTV as a recording source.

If I want to record HD the choices in this country are pretty limited.

Honestly, I'm not sure at all. But that's because, I support US products and customers. And from what I can tell, this model is for the UK. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
