Samsung blu-ray player and Doctor Who compatability?

Okay I have a Samsung BD-D6500 player and it will NOT play any Doctor Who blu-rays properly (The Complete Specials, Series 5, Series 6). I put the disc in, the ads play like normal, which I skip, the menu is fine, but as soon as I play an episode, the picture will freeze every 2 seconds and the audio cuts out after about 10 seconds. Then the rest of the episode will just play with a constant freezing screen and muted audio.
Now, I heard this happens because the BBC and 2Entertain produce these discs in 1080i, 50hz, instead of 1080p like other American discs would.
Yes, these are Region A and the box says "As seen on BBC AMERICA". I wouldn't buy Region B discs for use in this country.
The main thing is: what is a player that can support 50hz? The player I have is meant to support up to 60hz but it seems to not like anything that's 50hz.

Hi fred81094,

Our Blu-ray players have their firmware regularly updated for new features that companies push out on Blu-ray discs, so be sure you're on the most recent firmware version for the BD-D6500. That would be 1030.0 released on Oct 30, 2012, as of this right now.

Exact Same Problem with BD-D5500

I have a BD-5500 with EXACTLY the same problem. I gave my daughter the Doctor Who Fifth Series for her birthday and the sound keeps going out. If you pause it, then the sound comes back on for a second or two then cuts out again.

I checked the firmware and it is BSP-D5500ZA-1030.0. From what you said above, this is the latest and greatest. I tried to update the firmware again, and my player said there are now upgrades.

Please Help.
