Samsung forum: UE46ES6100 as gaming tv?

I didn't see any more lag than any other set when gaming mode is on. Can you reveal what review missed the gaming mode setting?

all monitors/tv have the input lag (exept for CRT, or almost)

in good monitors its like 2ms in TVs usually is more

but when it reach up to like 40ms , and you are playing games like halo4 or something that require fasts input/output , that amount of millesecond of input lag could make your gameplay horrible! even more if onling playing

(and yes i'm talking with game mode ON ; if it's OFF in some TV can reach near 100ms ! .. that is not a problem with films, but with an interactive viewing it could be very boring, that's because i'm worried before buying... )

I see some now support 120Hz rates along with the issue you noted.

What is this 2ms you noted? Almost all (NTSC) sets are much slower at 60Hz which calculates out to higher.

I've seen gamers in forums really lose their cool over this. I continue to flip the sets to game mode and move on. Your gamers that think there is more to this need to ignore HDTVs and move back to PC monitors. I can't be more clear about this.

input lag and refresh rate are 2 different things... really different each others...

for example:
i can have an 800hz tv (maybe 400hz in reality thanks of marketing) but with high input lag... like over 100ms
we are talking about 0.1second... a overkill for every game..

obviously monitors are better , about input lag... but there are TVs and TVs
i'm just asking if someone have done the input lag test, or can confirm that playing a fps game is ok...
all things about UE46ES6100 or UN46ES6100 (i think is the same)

Then you have a reason to return that set. I've yet to see anything over a few horizontal lines lag when game mode is on. But it is possible for the firmware to be broken and then you are back to talking to the maker or returning the set.

The issue must be rare since in some near thousand cases I flip game mode on and everyone goes to the next round.
