Laptop Won't Do Anything

Hi, I have a Samsung Notebook, specs in the following link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834131116

Whenever I turn it on, it won't progress past the initial screen that says Samsung. I cannot access BIOS or the recovery menu. Before this, I was running chkdsk, because I had been getting blue screens, but then it shut down in the middle of the check and now won't do anything. Please help.

Assuming you have tried the usual battery removal/power reset. Did you burn the system disks? Since the manufacturers don't furnish them any more making your own is pretty much a given. If the unit is still under manufacturers warranty, that might be a viable way to go, if not I'd get the system disks or make a Linux/Ubuntu boot disk. At this point it is difficult to say if this is a hardware(HDD) issue or software but I am leaning more toward software/OS issue.
