Samsung International Warranty UAE

Hi all,

Can anyone help me?

I am really eager to buy the new Samsung 65 inch (UE65ES8000 LED HD). The only problem...

The price in the USA and UK is $3,500. However, the price (in the tax free) UAE is $7,000!

As result I am looking to import the TV, but having read some negative reviews on the build quality and am now a little nervous.

Samsung's service center in the UAE, says that the 'International Warranty' that comes with a UK/USA purchase is not valid here.

Does anyone know if this this correct and why: - perhaps this is the only way they can charge double!

If there are any moderators from Samusng on here - It would be great to here the justification for charging UAE customers $7,000 for a $3,500 TV.

Any thoughts would be very welcome.

Hi YohansToes,

I strongly encourage you to buy within your own country because you'll otherwise experience compatibility problems as TVs are regionalized to work with the technology in a given country As to pricing inside the UAE, I can't address that. However, any problems that arise from by a US product in a non-recommended fashion would not be covered by your warranty. Further, any service needed on your TV would require your shipping it back to the US at your cost. If you have any more questions you'd like to ask about using a US TV in another country, I'll be happy to answer them.
