Upconverted HDMI signal drops for VCR

Upconverted HDMI signal drops for VCR every couple minutes then comes back after a second. Using a Denon AVR-1910 receiver, an old Samsung VCR and a 51" Samsung Plasma TV. Using composite/RCA cables from VCR to Receiver then HDMI monitor cable goes to TV. Any help?

And we had to work it by changing what upconverts the content (content is in this case VHS).

If you can connect with a Composite connection the issue vanished for us.

Frustrated...

Well bybassing the receiver and hooking up straight composite/RCA to the TV would fix the problem but whats the point of having a receiver with this functionality and not being able to use it? Frustrating to say the least, I like the fact that sound came from my speakers and the receiver made the screen "wide" screen (no black bars). If anyone has a solution, let me know... thanks.

And support is not supplying a fix. At this point you should have looked for firmware updates and heard about the old MacroVision issue. There is no cure for that issue. No maker can fix that.

So let's hope your dealer has more devices to try.
