My Samsung tv wont receive rem control signals all the time?

Hi,

My TV (LE40C580J1KXXU) has suddenly developed a fault whereby it will sometimes work with the remote controls and then all of a sudden will not, in both cases for periods of hours!

I have updated firmware and reset the defaults but the problem persists. In all other ways the TV is performing normally.

It is not a remote control issue as the sky remote works and doesnt work at the same time as the TV remote suggesting the issue is inside the TV.

As the TV is ok other than this i am reluctant to spend vast amounts of money just for the hassle of volume control and swithing the tv on and off, so if anyone has had a similar experience or knows of a solution that would be great!

Thanks for your message. But just so you know: if you want Samsung support, I support US products and customers. And from what I can tell, this model is for UK. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) yes is a uk model, but would be interested to know if you had encountered a similar problem on any samsung model.......it would appear that the remotes work less often with the tv than do, still has periods of several hours where the tv will receive the signals.

There was something about this years ago where you would turn off the Eco mode and it would clear up. It's either that or some other mode. My memory isn't good on this but a TV tech that gets hit with this may remember.

have searched a bit more online but to no avail so far......as the cost of repair i fear will soon exceed the cost of a new tv i am thinking it is just a problem i will have to live with unless there is an easy and relatively cheap fix!!

Is there when you get the set NEW. If this is a new issue for an old TV then it's likely to not be the issue I was thinking of. I know folk hate to type in all that detail but it can help.
