Samsung LE46C750 keeps turning itself off

Can anyone help me with a Samsung LE46C750 as it keeps turning itself off? It mainly occurs when I turn it on, a couple of seconds later it has turned itself off again!

There is no pattern to when this happens and it has been to the approved Samsung repairer four times and they have applied a firmware update and changed the power unit but this has still not been rectified.

Any ideas? It is connected to a Samsung DVD player and BT Vision box via HDMI cables.

What happens when you disconnect everything from the TV and just try turning on the TV by itself? Same thing?

Hi jon_jackman,

I wanted to rule out the other devices affecting it. Generally, I refer you to your own country's support in the UK, as I have information only for US products. (Link here if you want it: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/LE46C750R2KXXU ) But since you've had repairs already and tried firmware updates and the rest, I figured I'd try to rule out possibilities and limit it down to the device.

You have over-the-air programming in the UK, I presume. So disconnect everything and watch some over-the-air TV for a while. If it doesn't happen. It may be one of the connected devices having some sort of issue.

By the way, have the repair people been able to replicate the problem in their shop?

Thanks - I can certainly try and watch it over-the-air, however that doesn't help me that much as I bought the TV on the assumption that it could handle connecting to other devices including a Samsung DVD player.

The repair people have not been able to replicate it but this is part of the challenge as it occur randomly and sometimes weeks apart and as they only keep it a few days max they can never catch it.

Hi jon_jackman,

I see that does make things difficult to diagnose since it happens sporadically, and I can see why'd you be reticent to try my disconnect-all-the-devices solution. Admittedly, at this point, I'm just guessing what the problem could be. So here are two other suggestions:

- Turn off Anynet on your TV.
- Plug your TV into another power outlet.
